Kelly Rice

Chair of Trustees

Kelly Rice combines her 25-year career in project and operational management at Sky TV with a strong track record in local community engagement, volunteering, and fundraising, alongside her work as a dedicated artist and hobbyist.

Through her artistic venture, Lydia’s Tattooed Ladies, Kelly transforms unloved ornaments into striking, contemporary pieces, demonstrating how reinvention can bring new life and meaning. Her work has been showcased at Open Studios West Berkshire, City Arts, and at various local craft fairs and conventions.

In her role at Creative Communities, Kelly brings both strategic insight and a deep personal commitment to supporting others, shaped by her lived experience of caring for dependants with mental health needs. She believes in creativity as a powerful tool for wellbeing and connection, having seen its positive impact on herself and those around her.

Her distinctive blend of organisational expertise, creative flair, and compassionate leadership ensures she brings both professionalism and empathy to guiding Creative Communities’ vision and impact

Alison Prudden

Treasurer

Alison has worked in adult education and training for over 30 years primarily focusing on the needs of adults across West Berkshire. 
Following a 12 year career in travel marketing she joined Newbury College as a lecturer in marketing and later programme manager for the College’s adult and community learning service.
In 2008 Alison joined West Berkshire Council’s community learning service responsible for the funding, commissioning and quality management of post-19 education across the district. 
Alison has an MA in Lifelong Learning, excellent knowledge of the adult education sector and is passionate about education as a means to improve lives – regardless of age and background.

Jon Till

Trustee

Jon Till is an experienced IT engineer with a strong background in designing, managing, and implementing infrastructure across diverse sectors—including education, managed services, and software development.

His earlier work supporting individuals with autism and learning disabilities sparked a lifelong commitment to inclusion and community wellbeing. This experience continues to shape his values and approach.

Outside of work, Jon enjoys spending quality time with his family—often escaping to the countryside for walks, stargazing, and peaceful moments together.

Jon brings deep technical expertise alongside a heartfelt dedication to inclusion, accessibility, and the wellbeing of others—values that align closely with the mission of Creative Communities.

Dwynwen Spargo

Trustee

Dwynwen is a registered children’s nurse, specialist community public health nurse (School Nursing) and registered nurse teacher. Dwynwen has a long history of working with families, children and schools with the aim of improving population health and wellbeing and a vast experience working within higher education with both undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students. This includes providing pastoral support for students and is passionate about creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

In her spare time Dwynwen enjoys her garden, reading, swimming, theatre, singing and caring for her great niece and nephew and looking after two kittens.

Dwynwen’s commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of children and their families has included working in a voluntary role as a forum committee member with the Royal College of Nursing and as an adult advisory panel member working with the Children’s Commissioner for Wales. Dwynwen brings enthusiasm and passion for improving the health and wellbeing of communities to the role of Trustee of Creative Communities (South East) C.I.O.

Janet McGinn

Janet has had a long career in education, specialising as a special educational needs teacher, she has taught students with and without learning difficulties and disabilities for the last 24 years, including adult learners and younger, full-time students.

Janet has worked as a Job Coach teaching Life and Work Skills to students within the workplace, as well as designing and delivering provision for adults in literacy, numeracy, communication skills, creativity, cookery, ICT and culture and diversity. Janet has also worked on ESOL (English for Speakers of other Languages), Mental Health and Family Learning programmes.

Janet brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Creative Communities, both in teaching and the further education sector, as well as working with adults with complex learning difficulties and disabilities and adults with mental health conditions.
